Privacy policy
This policy explains what [Bibling LLC] ("Bibling", "we", "us") collects when you use the Bibling app and biblingapp.com, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read. If anything is unclear, write to support@biblingapp.com.
In short: we collect what the app needs to sign you in, play prayers, write and voice your personal prayers, keep your streak, and bill you through Apple. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and you can delete everything from Profile in the app.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account. When you sign in with Apple, Google or email, we receive an account identifier and, depending on the provider and your choices, your email address. Sign in with Apple can hide your email behind a relay address; we store only what the provider gives us. We never see your password for Apple or Google, and your Bibling password is handled by our authentication provider, not stored by us in readable form.
- Prayer intentions and prayers. The words you type when you ask for a personal prayer, the themes and prompts you choose, your edits, and prayers you choose to save. Intentions and prayer texts are stored encrypted.
- Preferences. Your reminder time, Bible translation, notification choices and similar settings.
- Messages to us. What you send to support, and your email address so we can reply.
Information the app records as you use it
- Prayer history. The days you prayed, which prayer, whether it was sung or your own, and the verse of the day, so your streak and calendar work and follow you to a new phone.
- Subscription status. Whether you have Bibling Premium, your plan, trial and renewal dates, and the store's transaction identifiers, received from Apple through our billing provider. We never receive your card or bank details.
- Device and usage. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, a push-notification token if you allow reminders, and events such as "prayer started" or "prayer completed", with timestamps. We use an approximate location derived from your IP address only to run the service and detect abuse; we do not collect precise location.
We do not collect health data, contacts, photos or your Apple or Google account passwords.
2. How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To play sung prayers and show lyrics and verses.
- To write and voice your personal prayers from the words you give, using the AI services in section 3.
- To keep your streak, history and saved prayers and sync them across your devices.
- To send the reminders and notifications you turn on.
- To know whether you have a subscription and to apply its limits.
- To understand how the app is used in aggregate and fix problems.
- To answer your messages.
- To protect the service and comply with the law.
We do not use your intentions or prayers to advertise to you, and we do not use them to train artificial-intelligence models. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Who processes it for us
We use service providers who process information on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to providing their service to us. By type and purpose:
- Authentication and hosting
- A cloud platform that runs sign-in, our database, file storage and our servers in the United States.
- Prayer generation and voicing
- Three artificial-intelligence providers. Anthropic receives the text of your intention, the themes you chose and the Scripture shortlist, and returns the prayer draft. Under its commercial API terms it does not train on this content and keeps inputs for a limited period for trust-and-safety monitoring, [30 days by default, as confirmed for our account]. ElevenLabs receives the final prayer text and returns the spoken recording; its retention of that text and audio is set in our account to [retention period, as configured in the ElevenLabs account]. OpenAI runs the safety check on each draft Anthropic writes that passes our own checks first, so a draft is never approved by the provider that wrote it: it receives your intention text, the themes you chose and the draft, and returns the check. When Anthropic is unavailable or declines a request, OpenAI writes the draft instead (receiving the same intention text, themes and Scripture shortlist) and Anthropic runs the safety check on it. When neither can, you get a prayer we wrote in advance; the attempts before it may already have sent your input to Anthropic or OpenAI as described here, and ElevenLabs receives that prayer's text if you ask to hear it. Under its API terms OpenAI does not train on this content and keeps inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. We send these providers only what the request needs. We never attach your account name, email or identifier, though any name you write into your intention is sent with it. Logs these providers keep for their own security are under their control, and deleting your Bibling account does not purge them before their retention period ends.
- Payments
- Apple processes your payment; a subscription-management provider receives Apple's purchase and renewal receipts so the app knows your plan. Neither we nor that provider receive your card details.
- Analytics
- An analytics provider that receives the device and usage events in section 1 under a pseudonymous identifier, so we can see how features are used in aggregate.
- Notifications
- Apple's and Google's push services deliver reminders to your phone.
- Support
- An email provider for messages to and from support.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of Bibling, our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information until it is changed.
4. Analytics and tracking
The app records usage events as described above. On iOS we ask for your permission before the app uses any identifier that would let us or our analytics provider track you across other companies' apps and websites; if you decline, we do not. The website at biblingapp.com uses no analytics and sets no cookies. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where the law requires it. We do not show advertising in the app or on the website.
5. How long we keep it, and deletion
- Personal prayers you do not save, including their recordings, are deleted automatically within 24 hours of being written. Only prayers you tap Save on are kept.
- Saved prayers, prayer history and preferences are kept while your account is open.
- Subscription records are kept while your account is open and as long as needed for accounting and tax obligations.
- Usage analytics are kept in pseudonymous form for up to [24 months].
- Support messages are kept for up to [24 months] after the conversation ends.
Delete account. Open Profile in the app and tap Delete account. Within 24 hours we delete your account, your prayers and recordings, your history, your preferences and your device tokens, and we remove your sign-in from our authentication provider. We keep an anonymous record that an account with your identifier was deleted, so that later data about it can be discarded, and anonymous aggregate statistics that cannot identify you. Information our processors hold is deleted under their own retention schedules, typically within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your iPhone's Settings first.
6. Security
Information is encrypted in transit, prayer intentions and prayer texts are encrypted at rest, access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service, and we review access regularly. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
7. Children
Bibling is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to support@biblingapp.com and we will delete it. Users between 13 and the age of majority may use Bibling only with a parent's or guardian's permission.
8. Your rights under US state laws
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (including California's) may give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising, and we do not use it for profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
You can exercise most of these rights yourself in the app: your prayers, history and preferences are visible in the app, and Delete account removes them. For anything else, or to ask for a copy of your data, email support@biblingapp.com with the subject "Privacy request" from the email address on your account. We will verify the request through your account and respond within the time the applicable law allows, usually 45 days. You may use an authorised agent where the law permits. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will explain the outcome. We will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
9. Where your information is stored
Bibling is offered in the United States and your information is stored and processed there. If you use the app from elsewhere, you are sending information to the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
